Australia Women Seal ODI Series 2-0 with Dominant Win Over India

Australia Women secured the three-match ODI series 2-0 after registering a convincing five-wicket victory over India Women in the second ODI at Hobart.

India’s Innings

After winning the toss, India opted to bat first. Opener Pratika Rawal scored a half-century before being dismissed. However, key batters including Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh failed to make significant contributions.

India managed to post 251/9 in their allotted 50 overs. For Australia, Alana King, Ashleigh Gardner, and Annabel Sutherland picked up two wickets each.

Australia’s Chase

Australia had a shaky start as captain Alyssa Healy was dismissed for 6 runs. However, Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll steadied the innings with a strong partnership.

Litchfield played a superb knock of 80 runs, while Georgia Voll scored a brilliant century (101). India’s fielding lapses further hurt their chances.

Beth Mooney contributed 31 runs, while Annabel Sutherland scored 10. In the end, Ashleigh Gardner (19*) and Tahlia McGrath (0*) remained unbeaten to guide Australia to 252 in 36.1 overs.

Although India had earlier won the T20 series on the tour, they have now lost the ODI series. The two teams will next face off in the third ODI and a one-off Test match.
