Construction of Ready-Made Minor Bridge Intensified at Lanka Corner

Works are being carried out at a rapid pace at Lanka Corner, which falls under the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation’s Central Zone, as part of the 24x7 drinking water project. Main pipelines are being laid to carry drinking water to the overhead storage tanks.

At the same time, to prevent waterlogging during rains and ensure smooth traffic movement, a 24-metre-long ready-made minor bridge with a storm-water drain is being constructed at the site.

To avoid delays, officials have been instructed to carry out both the drinking water pipeline work and the storm-water drainage line work simultaneously.

On Tuesday, Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran inspected the ongoing pipeline-laying and bridge construction works. He reviewed the progress and directed the concerned officials to complete the project at the earliest.
