₹50 Lakh Modern Gym Inaugurated in Coimbatore
A ₹50 lakh modern air-conditioned gym was inaugurated at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore by MP Ganapathy P. Rajkumar as part of Tamil Nadu’s sports infrastructure development initiative.
A state-of-the-art air-conditioned gymnasium built at a cost of ₹50 lakh was inaugurated at the Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore by Member of Parliament Ganapathy P. Rajkumar on Thursday.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had announced in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly that all district sports complexes would be upgraded with modern air-conditioned gyms at a total cost of ₹10 crore under the Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department. As part of this initiative, the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority constructed this 2,800 square feet modern gym at Nehru Stadium.
After inaugurating the facility, MP Ganapathy P. Rajkumar and District Collector Pavan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar personally inspected the gym and tried out the fitness equipment.
The event was attended by Corporation Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, Regional Joint Director of Sports Aruna, District Sports Officer Bhuvaneshwari, and other officials.
