Achamillai Charitable Trust and Sri Ramakrishna College of Nursing Conduct Comprehensive Awareness Program on Sexual Abuse Prevention and Self-Defense

Interactive Workshop Empowers Students with Knowledge and Practical Safety Skills

COIMBATORE – Achamillai Charitable Trust in collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna College of Nursing's NSS (National Service Scheme) unit successfully organized a comprehensive awareness program focused on self-vigilance, prevention of sexual abuse, and self-defense training for college students.

The initiative brought together institutional resources and community expertise to address critical yet often overlooked issues related to sexual abuse awareness and women empowerment through an interactive and engaging format.

Program Highlights

The awareness program featured an open discussion platform where students engaged with lesser-discussed yet vital topics including:

  • Sexual abuse and its various types

  • Golden rules for prevention and personal safety

  • Women empowerment and self-reliance

  • Interactive Q&A sessions addressing student queries

Students participated with enthusiasm and demonstrated active engagement throughout the session. Participants noted that the interactive format made the program particularly thought-provoking and relevant to their lives.

Self-Defense Workshop

The self-defense component of the program proved to be a highlight for attendees. Despite its simplicity in execution, the training was noted as powerful and effective. Participants reported gaining increased confidence and a sense of self-reliance through practical, applicable techniques.

"The self-defense session was simple but powerful and it builds confidence and self reliance," shared one student participant, reflecting the positive impact of the hands-on training.
