Zimbabwe’s fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has officially joined the Kolkata Knight Riders squad ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.
The 19th season of the Indian Premier League is set to begin on March 28. In the opening match, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Amid preparations for the new season, the signing of Blessing Muzarabani by Kolkata Knight Riders has drawn attention. The franchise confirmed that the Zimbabwean pacer has been contracted for the upcoming IPL season.
Blessing Muzarabani brings significant experience in international T20 cricket. He has played more than 80 international T20 matches for Zimbabwe and has taken over 90 wickets in the format, making him a valuable addition to the KKR bowling attack.
The pacer has joined the team following the release of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders squad. Muzarabani is expected to officially join the KKR camp on March 17 as the team prepares for the start of the tournament.
Notably, Muzarabani recently delivered an impressive performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, where he picked up 13 wickets during the competition. His performance placed him third on the list of highest wicket-takers in the tournament.
With his pace, bounce, and international experience, Muzarabani is expected to strengthen the Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowling lineup as they aim for a strong campaign in IPL 2026.
