Ajitesh Blitz sets up a facile win for COIMBATORE

Coimbatore secured its third win on the trot in the SS Rajan Trophy (Inter District T20 Trophy) organised by TNCA. Coimbatore cruised to an easy 7 wicket win over Kancheepuram in their 3rd match held at TEA Public School on Thursday, 18 December 2025 

Kancheepuram won the toss and chose to bat. Left Arm spinner Mohan Prasath captured the wicket of both the openers before Badrinath & Jayalani built a good partnership. Southpaw Jayalani scored a powerful 45 runs of 22 balls before being outfoxed by Saravana Kumar. This lead to repeated fall of wickets in the middle overs as Kancheepuram stammered from 77/3 in 8 overs to 108/8 in 16 overs. Arunachalam and Nirankar did well to take Kancheepuram to 140/8 in 20 overs. 

Coimbatore started their chase well and when opener Radhakrishnan was dismissed by Arunachalam, the side was already good at 30/1 in 3. The in form captain Hari Nishanth was joined by the talented Ajitesh and the duo only enhanced the attack. Ajitesh led the assault with a stunning 73 of 33 balls that included 12 fours and 2 sixes. The Kancheepuram bowlers were left clueless. Though they secured the wicket of Hari Nishanth (34 of 19 balls) and Ajitesh, Coimbatore was very near the finishing line. Sujay and Koushik completed the chase as Coimbatore hit 141 wth 7 wickets and 7 overs to spare.
