The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the match schedule for the first phase of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The IPL 2026 tournament will begin on March 28, marking the start of India’s biggest cricket festival. According to the announcement, the first phase schedule includes 20 matches that will be played until April 12.
The opening match of the tournament will feature Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Several high-profile clashes involving popular teams such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans are also scheduled during the initial phase.
The IPL continues to be one of the most popular T20 cricket leagues in the world, attracting top international and domestic players and millions of fans globally.
The remaining matches of the season are expected to be announced by the BCCI in the coming weeks.
