At least 18 people have lost their lives as massive wildfires continue to rage across Chile. Forest fires have been reported in nearly 24 locations across the country, causing widespread destruction and forcing authorities to take urgent action.
So far, around 50,000 people have been evacuated from affected areas as a precautionary measure. Firefighting teams, emergency services, and the military have been deployed to control the blaze and ensure public safety.
In response to the escalating crisis, Chilean President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of emergency, enabling the government to mobilize additional resources and strengthen relief operations. Authorities have urged residents to follow evacuation orders and safety advisories as efforts to contain the fires continue.
