₹2,000 Special Assistance Deposited for Pensioners: CM MK Stalin Announces Relief Package

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin announced a ₹2,000 special financial assistance deposited along with March pensions for senior citizens, widows, transgender persons, and differently-abled beneficiaries, benefiting over 29 lakh people.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has announced that an additional ₹2,000 has been deposited as special financial assistance for beneficiaries receiving monthly government pensions.

In a post shared on his official social media page, the Chief Minister stated that following the positive response to the ₹2,000 summer special assistance provided to women under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam, similar support has now been extended to vulnerable sections of society.

Special Assistance for Pension Beneficiaries

Responding to public requests, the Tamil Nadu government has credited ₹2,000 along with the March pension to eligible beneficiaries, including:

  • Senior citizens

  • Widows

  • Elderly transgender persons

  • Differently-abled individuals

Under various social security schemes:

  • 29.29 lakh beneficiaries (senior citizens and widows) received ₹3,200 each

  • 5.92 lakh differently-abled beneficiaries received ₹3,500 each

  • 2.58 lakh families receiving maintenance assistance for differently-abled persons received ₹4,000 each

Additional Welfare Measures

The Chief Minister also highlighted that:

  • 1,62,900 fishermen families are receiving ₹8,000 per family as fishing ban period assistance for April to June.

  • 14,870 tea farmers in the Nilgiris district will benefit from ₹8.53 crore in support funds. A procurement incentive of ₹2 per kilogram has been provided through 15 cooperative tea factories for green tea leaves.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Stalin stated that no one would be left behind in Tamil Nadu’s development journey.

The announcement reflects the state government’s continued focus on social welfare and financial support for economically vulnerable communities.
