The price of ornamental gold increased by ₹240 per sovereign on Tuesday morning, continuing its upward trend this week.

At the end of last week, gold was sold at ₹1,17,440 per sovereign. On Monday, the first trading day of the week, the price jumped by ₹1,440, reaching ₹1,18,880 per sovereign.

On Tuesday morning, gold prices rose further by ₹240, taking the rate to ₹1,19,120 per sovereign. The price of gold per gram stood at ₹16,243.

Meanwhile, silver prices witnessed a slight decline. The price of silver dropped by ₹10 per gram, selling at ₹290 per gram, while one kilogram of silver is priced at ₹2,90,000.

Market analysts attribute the fluctuations in gold and silver prices to global market movements, currency variations, and changes in demand in the bullion market.
