CIET and COZCENA sign MoU

The Department of Civil Engineering of Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Covai Zone Civil Engineers Association (COZCENA) on Monday, 24 February 2026 at CIET, Narasipuram. The signing of this MoU marked a strategic step toward industry-integrated engineering education and creating lasting community impact through engineering. 

The MoU was inked by Er. V. P. Palanisamy, President, COZCENA and Dr. K. Manikanda Subramanian, Principal, CIET in the esteemed presence of Er. M. Senthilnathan – Secretary, COZCENA, Er. G. Sundarrajan – Treasurer, COZCENA, Er. V. K. Dhamotharasamy – Vice President, COZCENA, Dr. P. Magudeaswaran – Professor & Head, Department of Civil Engineering, CIET and faculty members of CIET. Dr.K.A.Chinnaraju, Director, CIET appreciated the teams and provided valuable ideas for their collaboration. 

As per Dr.P.Magudewaran, the MoU had its own panch sheel of five objectives namely (1) Industry-aligned technical exposure (2) Experiential learning through field engagement (3) Professional mentoring from practicing engineers (4) Bridging classroom knowledge with real-world practice and (5) Community-driven civil engineering initiatives. He reinforced the need and commitment of the institution to build not just structures but future leaders in Civil Engineering.

Er.V.P.Palanisamy, President, COZCENA mentioned that COZCENA, as a vibrant network of dynamic civil engineers want to ensure that students are industry ready from day one. He emphasised the need for quality civil engineers to face the emerging challenges of urbanisation and sustainability. Dr.K.Manikanda Subramaniam believed that the opportunity would brighten the prospects of students to not only be job ready but comprehend the challenges of the industry and emerge as a leader.
