The inflow to Mettur Dam increased slightly to 165 cubic feet per second on Thursday, while the water level dropped to 86.58 feet. Water is being released for drinking purposes at 2,500 cusecs.
The inflow into the Mettur Dam increased slightly to 165 cubic feet per second (cusecs) on Thursday.
Despite the rise in inflow, the water level in the dam has dropped from 87.05 feet to 86.58 feet. Authorities are currently releasing water from the dam at a rate of 2,500 cusecs to meet drinking water requirements.
Earlier, the inflow into the dam was recorded at 154 cusecs, which has now risen slightly to 165 cusecs. However, the overall water level in the reservoir continues to decline.
At present, the total water storage in the Mettur Dam stands at 48.83 TMC (thousand million cubic feet). Officials are closely monitoring the water levels and inflow to manage the reservoir efficiently.
