IE(I) COIMBATORE is the Best Local Centre of IE(I) for third year in succession

The Institution of Engineers(India) {shortly IE(I)} Coimbatore Local Centre has been awarded as the best IE(I) Local Centre by The Institution of Engineers (India), for the year 2024-25. The award was presented by Dr Ajay Kumar, Chairman, Union Public Service Commission, in the presence of Er V B Singh, National President, IEI durinfg the 40th Indian Engineering Congress held at Durgapur on December 20 2025. The award was received by Dr M Senthilkumar, Chairman, IEI Coimbatore Local Centre. 

The award was presented for best all round activities in the financial year 2024-25. The most remarkable thing about the award is that the Centre is achieving it for the third time in succession. IEI Coimbatore Local Centre has won the Best Local Centre Award competing with more than 90 such local centres across India for the years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.

This award is an annual recognition to wide range of programmes, including seminars, workshops, conferences, and regular guest lectures under various engineering divisions, all aimed at benefiting society through corporate members and students.

The Institution of Engineers (India), Coimbatore Local Centre was started by the visionary Dr GR Damodaran and has been operating for the past 60 years from the PSG College of Technology campus. The centre has 3136 members cut across 15 divisions. In the year 2024-25, IE(I) Coimbatore Local Centre has organised 9 All India Seminars, 15 One Day Technical Seminars/Workshops, 16 Technical Seminars/Webinars, 16 Statuory Day observances and one Endowment Lecture.
