The Indian rupee strengthened by 5 paise to close at 90.69 against the US dollar in today’s foreign exchange trading, supported by positive domestic equity markets and declining global crude oil prices.

However, forex traders said the rupee’s gains were limited due to continued foreign fund outflows and the strength of the US dollar.

In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 90.72 against the dollar. During intraday trading, it touched a high of 90.64 and a low of 90.78 before settling at 90.69, up 5 paise from its previous close.
