Centre Warns Against Spreading False Information on LPG Cylinder Supply
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has warned against spreading misinformation about LPG cylinder shortages and urged media and the public to share only verified information.
The Central Government has issued a warning against spreading false information regarding LPG cylinder distribution across the country.
Amid reports of gas shortages in several regions, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas released an official statement addressing media organizations and the public.
The ministry advised news media to avoid repeatedly broadcasting old visuals related to gas supply issues. It emphasized that any footage shared should clearly include the date and time, so the public can understand when the incident actually occurred.
The government also urged the public not to panic and rush to book LPG cylinders, stating that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted gas supply.
Authorities have been instructed to closely monitor LPG distribution at the district level, with coordination between district monitoring committees and state governments to maintain smooth supply.
Social media users have also been advised not to spread rumors or unverified information and to share only accurate and verified updates.
Additionally, the Centre has directed states and union territories to take strict action against hoarding of essential commodities and ensure that essential supplies remain available without disruption.
