SATHYA PRAKASH provides a fitting finale to KADAMBARI 2026

Renowned playback singer Sathya Prakash held a fully packed auditorium in complete sway for more than two hours that marked the final act of KADAMBARI organized by PSG & Sons Charities.

KADAMBARI is an annual event organized by PSG & Sons to honour traditional art, dance and music forms. The event is aimed to bring together PSG students and exponents of traditional arts in one stage to provide learning and inspiration. KADAMBARI was started in 2016 with classical art forms and the performers were strictly from PSG institutions. Post COVID, KADAMBARI invited well known classical artists and carved a niche for itself with excellent artistes and experimenting art forms. Now KADAMBARI is a much sought Margazhi/New Year Event that Coimbatore is very familiar with. The passionate performers drawn from different art forms coalesce well with the talented performers of PSG Institutions and the concerts leave an indelible impression among the viewers.

KADAMBARI 2026, the 8th edition was a four day event that commenced on Friday, 02 January 2026 and culminated on Monday 05 January 2026. The event hosted Dhasavathar Dharmam, a classical dance programme, Carnatic Music Programmes by famed Sudha Ranganathan and young artists Aishwarya and Saundarya. The best musicians of PSG Institutions from school students to arts/engineering/medical college students were provided a stage to charm a benevolent audience.

The final piece of KADAMBARI 2026 was an enthralling musical evening by renowned playback singer Sathya Prakash. Sathya Prakash aided by a team of  four musicians won over a packed PSGIMSR auditorium for more than two hours. With his light classical performance titled DHARMAM THALAIKAAKUM, he effortlessly won over the audience. His rendition of classical songs and his seamless medley to popular songs and the songs sung by him sent the crowd to raptures. His rendition of Oru Naal Podhuma was so blissful and innovative and won over not only the quinquagenarians and sexagenarians but also the GenZ who were the majority. His seamless blending of "Chinnan Chiriya Vannaparavai" and "Marudha Malai Maamaniye" evoked a thunderous response from the audience. He started with his classical song “Nallai Allai” to which the audience kept asking “Once More”. He ended the performance with his blockbuster song “Aalaporan Tamizhan” which provided a great farewell vibe. The audience were so drawn into the programme that they started singing along for his popular songs and for few minutes it turned out to be a sing along event.

Sathya Prakash expressed his heartfelt admiration to PSG & Sons Charities and their century of dedicated service. He said that as a Coimbatorean he is well aware of the great works done by the institution and was very happy that he could be part of such a noble work of art that would gladden the hearts of service minded people. The leaders of PSG Institutions honoured Mr Sathya Prakash and commended him for being a great brand ambassador of Coimbatore. They also hoped that he will return to the event next year with even more laurels under his name.

When we checked with septuagenarians, middle aged persons,a bunch of college students and a few school kids about the programme, they were unanimous in acknowledging the great time of two hours courtesy a stellar performer. It was indeed a fabulous finale to an event dedicated to promotion of fine arts.
