Pongal Festival: Special Train Between Podanur and Chennai
To meet the increased travel demand during Pongal, Indian Railways will operate a special train between Podanur and Chennai on January 8 and 9.

Ahead of the Pongal festival, the Railway administration has announced the operation of a special train service between Podanur and Chennai.
According to a press release issued by the Salem Railway Division, the Podanur–Chennai Special Express Train (No. 06194) will depart from Podanur at 11:30 p.m. on January 8 and arrive at Chennai Central at 9:50 a.m. the following day.
In the return direction, the Chennai Central–Podanur Special Train (No. 06193) will depart from Chennai Central at 11:50 p.m. on January 9 and reach Podanur at 9:05 a.m. the next day.
The special train will halt at Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Thiruvallur, Perambur, and other stations en route, the release stated.
