SpiceJet Flight to Leh Makes Emergency Landing in Delhi After Engine Snag
A SpiceJet Boeing 737 flight from Delhi to Leh made an emergency landing shortly after take-off due to an engine malfunction. All 150 passengers are reported safe.
A SpiceJet flight bound for Leh from Delhi made an emergency landing on Tuesday morning after developing an engine malfunction shortly after takeoff.
The SpiceJet Boeing 737 aircraft departed from Delhi International Airport at around 6:45 AM with approximately 150 passengers on board.
Within minutes of departure, pilots detected a technical issue in the aircraft’s second engine. Following this, they sought permission from Air Traffic Control (ATC) for a “full emergency landing.”
Authorities at Delhi airport immediately initiated all necessary safety protocols and granted clearance for the aircraft to return.
The pilots successfully landed the aircraft safely without any untoward incident.
A SpiceJet spokesperson confirmed that all passengers on board are safe.
The exact cause of the engine malfunction is yet to be determined. The Civil Aviation Ministry is expected to conduct an investigation into the incident.
