Jananayagan Release Delayed Once Again!
The release of the Tamil film Jananayagan has been postponed yet again following a fresh order from the Madras High Court. In a significant development, the High Court has set aside an earlier ruling by a single judge that had directed the immediate issuance of a censor certificate for the film.
Earlier, the single-judge bench had instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to grant the certification without delay, raising hopes that the long-pending film would finally reach theatres. However, the latest order from a division bench has reversed that decision and allowed the CBFC to conduct a re-censorship of the film.
With this ruling, the certification process will now be reopened, and the CBFC has been given the authority to re-examine the content of Jananayagan in accordance with established guidelines. As a result, the film’s release has been pushed back once again, leaving its release date uncertain.
Jananayagan is reportedly based on strong political and social themes, which had earlier led to objections during the certification process. The repeated legal and procedural delays have disappointed the film’s makers and audiences alike.
Until the re-censorship process is completed and a final decision is taken by the CBFC, the release of Jananayagan will remain on hold.
