FLC
FLC (Film Lovers Commune) is a Coimbatore-based collective that brings people together through curated film screenings and thoughtful discussions.
On Sunday, 04 January 2026, FLC hosted a screening of Goodbye, Julia at SAHA Be You Cafe, Saibaba Colony from 06.00 PM to 08.00 PM. Nearly a dozen members of the collective wholeheartedly participated in the screening.
Goodbye Julia is a 2023 Sudanese drama film directed by Mohamed KordofaniIt. It was an intriguing film that explored guilt, grief, and unlikely companionship against the backdrop of a country on the edge of division. The screening was followed by an open discussion where members reflected on the film’s emotional undercurrents, moral conflicts, and the quiet political tensions embedded in its narrative.
The conversation moved organically from personal responses to broader themes of identity, reconciliation, and empathy. Mr Thilak, Coordinator of FLC highlighted that these discussions augur for FLC’s emphasis on cinema as a starting point for meaningful community conversations rather than definitive conclusions.
Film Lovers Commune hosts curated screenings and interactive discussions under "Let’s Talk Cinema.". It also Organizes special events series like "Unfolding" exploring films through deeper interaction with creators. In addition, FLC Create networking opportunities for film enthusiasts, students, and artists to connect and collaborate.
