RCB Women Clinch WPL Season 4 Title for the Second Time, Create History
RCB Women won the WPL Season 4 title for the second time after defeating Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets, with Smriti Mandhana scoring a brilliant 87 in the final.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) created history by winning the Women’s Premier League (WPL) title for the second time, defeating Delhi Capitals in a thrilling final held in Vadodara.
After winning the toss, RCB opted to bowl first. Batting first, Delhi Capitals put up a formidable total of 203 runs, setting a tough target in the championship clash.
Chasing the big score, RCB lost opener Grace Harris early for 9 runs, but captain Smriti Mandhana delivered a match-winning performance. She smashed 87 runs off 41 balls, including 3 sixes and 12 fours, with an outstanding strike rate of 212.20. Georgia Voll also played a crucial role, scoring 79 runs to support the chase.
RCB crossed the target in 19.4 overs, losing four wickets, and sealed a convincing 6-wicket victory to lift the trophy once again.
