US Sets June Deadline for Russia–Ukraine Ceasefire Agreement: Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the US has set a June deadline to reach a Russia–Ukraine ceasefire, warning of pressure if no agreement is reached.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that the United States has set a deadline until June to reach a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking about the ongoing conflict, Zelenskyy said the war between Russia and Ukraine has been continuing for nearly four years, and the US is actively working to bring both sides to an agreement to end the fighting. He warned that if a decision is not reached by June, the United States will apply pressure on both countries to push for a resolution.
Global leaders have repeatedly urged an end to the Russia–Ukraine war, with the US playing a key role in diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire.
As part of its strategy to pressure Russia, US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil. India was also subjected to these tariffs. However, after India stated that it would stop buying oil from Russia, the US reduced the tariff imposed on India to 18 percent.
