T20 World Cup: Pakistan Sets Three Conditions to Play Against India
Pakistan has reportedly set three conditions to the ICC to play against India in the T20 World Cup, with talks ongoing between ICC, PCB, and BCCI ahead of the Feb 15 clash in Colombo.
Pakistan has reportedly placed three key conditions before the International Cricket Council (ICC) to agree to play against India national cricket team in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup.
The tournament is being held across India and Sri Lanka, with the much-anticipated India–Pakistan clash scheduled for February 15 in Colombo. Earlier, Pakistan had announced it would boycott the match in protest against Bangladesh’s removal from the tournament.
Following this, ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khwaja and representative Mubashir Usmani visited Pakistan on Sunday and held discussions with Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
During the meeting, the PCB reportedly laid down three conditions:
-
A larger share in tournament revenue.
-
ICC support to resume bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan.
-
Indian players should traditionally shake hands with Pakistani players during matches.
Additionally, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has requested the ICC to grant them the opportunity to host a future ICC tournament.
Sources say ICC and Board of Control for Cricket in India officials are currently reviewing Pakistan’s demands. The PCB has stated that a final decision will be announced within 24 hours, after consultations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
