Brazil Star Neymar Jr Announces Retirement Plan, Likely to Quit Football by December

Brazilian football star Neymar Jr (34) has announced his retirement plans, revealing that he is likely to end his football career by December this year.

Neymar, who holds the record as Brazil’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals, confirmed that he may retire from professional football by the end of the year.

The star forward, who has missed several matches due to injuries, is currently playing for his childhood club Santos. Brazil’s national team coach had earlier stated that Neymar is not yet fully fit to participate in this year’s Football World Cup.

Neymar previously played for top clubs including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain before joining Al Hilal. However, injuries limited him to just three appearances in two years at the Saudi club.

Speaking in a recent interview, Neymar said he is unsure about the future but expects to retire by December.

“I don’t know what will happen next or about next year. Most likely, I think I will retire when December arrives. Right now, I am living year by year. I will wait and see what my heart decides. At the end of the year, whatever my heart says will happen,” he said.

He added that this year is very important for both Santos and the Brazil national team, especially with the World Cup approaching, and expressed his desire to give his 100 percent during the season.
