KV Institute of Management and Information Studies, Coimbatore, conducted a capacity building program titled “Read to Lead: Powering Careers through Reading” on March 24, 2026, at its campus. The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of reading in enhancing students’ knowledge, skills, and career prospects.

The session was led by M. Jagadesh Kumar, Head of Sales and Distribution (Coimbatore Region) at The Hindu Group. He emphasized how regular reading contributes to personal and professional development by keeping individuals informed about current affairs, improving communication skills, and strengthening analytical thinking.

He encouraged students to develop a habit of reading newspapers, journals, magazines, and books to broaden their perspectives and build informed opinions. He also highlighted that reading enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and articulation, which are essential for academic performance, competitive exams, and placements.

The session provided practical tips such as setting aside dedicated time for reading, choosing reliable sources, and maintaining consistency. Students were advised to explore diverse materials including editorials, business news, biographies, and self-development books to better understand real-world scenarios.

The program was interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and clarifying their queries. Faculty members and students participated enthusiastically, making the session both insightful and motivating.

This initiative reflects KVIM’s commitment to holistic student development and continuous learning. By promoting reading as a key tool for career advancement, the program encouraged students to enhance their knowledge, confidence, and overall personality development.
