The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) digital transaction service faced a sudden disruption on February 10 evening, leaving users unable to complete several transactions.
Services such as sending money, scanning QR codes, and making digital payments were affected. The issue was reported across multiple platforms, including Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm, around 7 PM.
Following the outage, many users took to social media to report the problem and share their experiences. The disruption was reported in several major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, where users said UPI services were severely impacted.
Due to the outage, many people were forced to switch to cash payments, causing inconvenience during the evening hours. Further updates from payment authorities and service providers are awaited regarding the cause and restoration of services.
